Swine Flu Preparedness in Valdez
On Tuesday, the Alaska Department of Health and Social Services confirmed the state's third death related to H1N1, or swine flu: a middle-aged Seward woman, who died from a combination of respiratory and other pre-existing medical conditions. And while officials have not yet confirmed a case locally, several cases have been suspected in Valdez. KCHU's Erik Wander spoke with Valdez's public health nurse about the virus and local preparedness for a potential pandemic:
