Valdez Tsunami Ready

Last Wednesday’s deadly tsunami in the South Pacific highlighted the difficulty of predicting and preparing for the potentially devastating waves that result from earthquakes, volcanic eruptions and other disturbances. According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's  National Weather Service, Valdez is "tsunami ready." But, while especially damaging tidal waves are relatively rare, Valdez's fire chief says a community's readiness for one depends on its "tsunami-awareness." KCHU's Erik Wander has more:
