H1N1 Update
The Department of Health and Social Services' epidemiology section has released a report summarizing H1N1 related hospitalizations in Anchorage. The study shows greater rates of hospitalization among American Indian, Alaska Native populations, Pacific Islanders and Asians than others. Yesterday the state announced that it's relaxing restrictions and expanding the offer of H1N1 vaccine to all Alaskans beginning today. In Valdez, which continues to receive its allotment of the vaccine on a pro rata basis as it's received by the state, a mass inoculation clinic is planned for Thursday evening.
