Illegal Hunting Cases

Seven out-of-state members of a federal smokejumpers crew working out of Fort Wainwright have been convicted of falsifying fishing and hunting documents, Alaska Wildlife Troopers announced Friday. The men were in Alaska as seasonal firefighters for the Bureau of Land Management last year, when the offenses took place, according to troopers. Two of the men were also convicted in Glennallen District Court earlier this month and late last month of illegally hunting Dall sheep near Nebesna. The convictions concluded a lengthy, multi-agency investigation. KCHU's Erik Wander has more:
