Coast Guard Musher Visits Valdez
The U.S. Coast Guard has announced that it's sponsoring a nine-year veteran of the Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race to draw attention to its operations in the Arctic. It's the first time the Coast Guard has sponsored a musher in what's been dubbed, "The Last Great Race on Earth." Fairbanks musher Ken Anderson was in Valdez Wednesday touring Coast Guard facilities and speaking with local students about mushing and the race. KCHU's Erik Wander has more:
