Science Center Talks Herring

The Pacific Herring is a keystone species that plays a primary role in the health of the Prince William Sound and Gulf of Alaska marine ecosystems. Historically abundant and high in energy content, the fish is an ideal food source and a large percentage staple in the diet of salmon and many other fish, marine mammals and seabirds. The Prince William Sound Science Center's principal investigator recently gave a talk on herring in Cordova. More from Carolyn Roesbery:
