Marine Advisory Program in Jeopardy

The University of Alaska's Alaska Sea Grant Marine Advisory Program (or MAP) has been operating in the state for about 46 years. The advisory program is a statewide marine research, education and communication service, and an extension of the University of Alaska Fairbanks' School of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences. MAP boasts agents in 10 coastal communities, including one based out of Cordova serving the Prince William Sound region. However with funding shortfalls expected to hit the program later this year, that presence is now in jeopardy. KCHU's Erik Wander has more:
