Alaska Gasline Port Authority Handles Debt - 5/18/10
The Alaska Gasline Port Authority is in debt to the tune of $264,000, but it has secured corporate sponsorship money and is due about $50,000 from the North Slope Borough to offset a large portion of that debt. And contrary to a Fairbanks Daily Newsminer report, the nonprofit organization's board chariman--who's also the mayor of Valdez--says it will not ask the city of Valdez to help offset the remaining roughly $60,000.
