Alaska Shield 2010 Comes to Valdez
The City of Valdez is one of a number of
communities across the state set to participate in next week's Alaska Shield
2010, a full-scale exercise based on a simulated disaster scenario, designed to
test emergency response capabilities. City officials say the event will bring
hundreds of state and military personnel to town along with military vehicles
and aircraft, and they want the public to be fully aware that it is only an
