Coast Guard Rescue Hiker Near Whittier - 5/13/10
The Coast Guard performed a
rare land-based rescue early Tuesday morning, when a helicopter crew based in
Cordova rescued a stranded hiker near Whittier. The man had jumped from a small
cliff after encountering a bear, and wasn't able to climb back up to the trail
he was hiking on. KCHU's Erik Wander has more:
