Commercial Shrimp Showing Improvement
For the first time in 19
years, commercial boats have joined the Prince William Sound shrimp fishery.
The Alaska Department of Fish and Game is reporting a slow start to the
fishery, which was last open in 1991 and has already seen its first opening
since come and go. Now in the midst of a second opening, Fish
and Game hopes better weather this week will prompt greater partcipation and a
produce a bigger harvest for shrimp fishermen from
Valdez, Cordova and Whittier. KCHU's Erik Wander has more:
