Lakina Bridge Repaired After Damage 8/4/10
The State
Department of Transportation and Public Facilities has completed temporary
repair work to the Lakina River Bridge near McCarthy, after a construction
vehicle bearing an over-sized load damaged the bridge last week. The department
says the repairs have improved the bridge’s structural integrity, but it’s still
not able to accommodate heavy loads. DOT employees are currently stationed at
the bridge during its limited hours of operation to monitor those loads. KCHU’s
