McCarthy to Get Broadband, Cordova Possible By End of Year - 7/8/10

Sen. Mark Begich announced last week $5.4 million in stimulus funding to extend
terrestrial wireless broadband connectivity in McCarthy. Awarded to Copper
Valley Telecom, the project focuses on improving middle-mile broadband and will
benefit an estimated 20 local businesses, according to Begich’s office.
Meanwhile, Copper Valley says a similar project in Cordova—also funded by
stimulus money—is expected to be complete by the end of the year. KCHU’s Erik
