Cost of Living in Alaska
According
to a recent article published by the Alaska Department of Labor and Workforce
Development, Alaska as a state is not as expensive as it once was when compared
to the cost of living in other U.S. states. The study looked at a variety of factors,
including the cost of food, energy, transportation and housing, in both urban
and rural areas. The state economist who wrote the article says that housing in
the state, for example, is more affordable than it’s been in a long time and
that the overall gap with other states is closing. But he also says a lot depends
on where in the state you live. KCHU’s Erik Wander has more:
