Drivers are okay after collisions with moose

Two weekend accidents in the Copper River Valley have left two moose dead. The first crash happened Sunday around 8 p.m. near Milepost 95 on the Richardson Highway near Copper Center. Alaska State Troopers say Bradely Gamble of Eagle Lake was traveling northbound his truck hit a moose in the roadway. The 54 year-old walked away with minor injuries.
The second accident happened 23 minutes later in Glennallen near Milepost 187 on the Glenn Highway. Reports say Tamara Vanwhye of Copper Center was heading eastbound when her car struck a moose. The 44 year-old was uninjured in the crash.
Both victims' vehicles were not drivable after the accidents. The moose were slavaged by a charity.
