Cordova duo named to All-Star and All-State squads

Two Cordova High School Basketball players have been selected to play in this weekend's Alaska Association of Basketball Coaches Senior All-Star Game. Christian Brockert and Dane Meyer were among 11 3-A players to be named to the squads. The duo led the Wolverines to 20 wins and a No. 2 ranking this season. Tip-off time is Saturday at 7 p.m. at Colony High School in Palmer.
Brockert and Meyer were also named to the AABC's All 3-A State First Team. On the girls' side, Valdez High School's Caitlin Auble was the lone area player to make the squad. She also made the First Team. Auble's prolific scoring led the Lady Bucs to within a game from qualifying for this year's state tournament.
