Area native organizations receive HUD grants

Three area native villages and one tribal housing organization were among 32 Alaska tribal organizations and native villages to receive grants to address affordable housing. The US Department of Housing and Urban Development made the announce on Thursday. The Copper River Basin Regional Housing Authority received $2.1 million. The Native Village of Selawik and Point Hope received grants around $420,000. The Native of Village Eyak received $128,000. HUD awarded a total of $64 million dollars to native villages and tribal organizations throughout the state.
