Improvements on the way for Homestead Road area

The Homestead Road area got two wins during this week's Valdez City Council Meeting. The Council voted 5-1 to create a special assessment district for installing a new sewer system in the area. Councilman Joe Prax was the lone no vote. The District will include all unserviced properties along Homestead Road,
The Council also approved funding for the Homestead Road Paving Project. The City will use $900,000 to cover the costs. The resolution passed on a 4-2 vote with Councilmen Prax and Mike Wells voting no.
Councilman Alan Sorum was not present at the time of both votes.
