Whittier to hold runoff election
By Tony Gorman
The City of Whittier is going to have to wait until December to have an official City Council and learn the fate of its sales tax. The Whittier Council decided to hold a run-off election to decide Seat F and Proposition 1.
Shannon Tolman and Arlen Arneson are formally running for the Seat. Both candidates were beaten by Mayor Lester Lunceford in this month's municipal election. Lunceford did not formally file to run for re-election.
As for the sales tax, the voters said yes to the increase, but the results were not certified.
The run-off election will be held in December, but no date has been set.
