Cordova heads to the polls this week
The Cordova General Election is next Tuesday. Three candidates are running for two seats on the City Council. Two candidates are running for two seats on the School Board. There is one proposition on the ballot. The proposition is dealing with a city ordinance authorizing the conveyance to Alaska Intrastate Gas Company of approximately 4 acres. Friday, we took a look at the candidates for the school board. U-S Forest Service employee and former educator Dan Reum is seeking his first term on the board.
The other candidate in the race is seeking his third term on the board. Peter Hoepfner (Heffner) is longtime commercial fisherman not only in Cordova, but in Alaska, too.
Incumbent Cordova City Councilmen Brent Bradford and EJ Cashier are seeking reelection while Robert "Moose" Henrichs is looking o return to the Council.
The Cordova General Election is Tuesday, March 5.
