PWSCC President Desorcie relieved of duties
By Tony Gorman
The president of Prince Williams Sound Community College has been let go after seven years on the job. On Monday, University of Alaska Anchorage Chancellor Tom Case said he decided to relieve Doug Desorcie because he felt a change of leadership was needed. He cited leadership challenges over the years as a reason for the move.
Desorcie became president of Alaska’s only accredited community college in 2005. He’s been a resident of Valdez for over 20 years.
Dean of Instruction Wes Lundburg has been named interim president as officials look to fill the position permanently.
