Two-car crash kills Glennallen man
A weekend crash has left a Glennallen man dead and several others injured. Alaska State Troopers say last Friday, Patrick Mullen was driving southbound on the Richardson Highway when his truck started fishtailing and crossing into the opposite lane. The front-end of a northbound car driven by Valdez resident Ronald Wilkinson struck the truck’s driver’s side door.
The truck rolled several times before landing on its roof in the northbound lane. The car bounced off a snow berm, but remained upright.
Troopers arrived on scene to find the 29 year-old Mullen dead. The front seat passenger in Wilkinson’s car, 37 year-old Shannon Keithley of Valdez, was flown to an Anchorage hospital for treatment non-life threatening injuries. The 37 year-old Wilkinson and the three backseat passengers, 15 year-old Shatarah Keithley, 11 year-old Caden Keithley, and 6 year-old Theron Deisenroth, who are also from Valdez, were transported to Providence Valdez Medical Center and treated for non-life threatening injuries.
Mullen was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash. None of the backseat passengers were wearing their seatbelts. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
