By Tony Gorman

The Alaska Air National Guard was able to save two teenage hikers who were injured from a climbing accident in the Whittier.   The 11th Air Force Rescue Coordination Center says the two 16 year-old boys had fallen while trying to scale a mountain in the area Saturday night.  One of the boys was able to contact his father, who then contacted the Whittier Police.  The Guardsmen deployed a helicopter crew to search for the boys. They were located and transported to safety early Sunday morning.
