Alaska State Troopers respond to injured hiker

By Tony Gorman

A Pennsylvania man is okay after injuring himself during a hiking trip over the weekend.  Alaska State Troopers say Alexander Lane was hiking with Dalton Sabo on Estar Island near Whittier, Saturday night, when he lost his footing and fell.  His right leg became caught between a log and a rock. Troopers assisted the Alaska Air Rescue Coordination Center in recovering the hikers.  Lane was transported to Providence Hospital and treated for an ankle injury.  He has since been released.
