AKDOT maintenance engineer Jason Sakalaskas discusses Richardson Highway avalanche on Coffee Break

The Richardson Highway is still closed due to last weekend's avalanches. The Alaska Department of Transportation doesn’t know the exact length of the closure.  There is some good news. Recently, the water behind the Keystone Canyon area has receded thanks to the Lowe River flowing again. 

KCHU's Tony Gorman spoke with Alaska Department of Transportation maintenance engineer Jason Sakalaskas about the condition of the avalanche area during this morning half-hour edition of Coffee Break.
