		<content type="html">&lt;font style="font-size: 12px;"&gt;&lt;font face="helvetica"&gt;&lt;font style="font-size: 14px;"&gt;&lt;font face="Arial"&gt;By Tony Gorman&lt;br&gt;&lt;p style="line-height: normal;"&gt;Cordova skiers and snowboarders will finally be able to hit the slopes.&lt;span&gt;&amp;nbsp; &lt;/span&gt;According to the Cordova Times, the Mount Eyak ski hill is expected to open this weekend if the weather permits.&lt;span&gt;&amp;nbsp; &lt;/span&gt;The area’s towers and chair lifts had been buried in snow due the recent winter storm that occurred two weeks ago.&lt;span&gt;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; &lt;/span&gt;According to Mount Eyak Ski Area General Manger Dan Branshaw, crews had &lt;span&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/span&gt;made significant progress in digging the towers out from under the snow&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p style="line-height: normal;"&gt;Branshaw says the towers suffered no structural damage during the storm. &lt;span&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/span&gt;He says crews have been removing snow around the towers in order to operate the chair lifts.&lt;span&gt;&amp;nbsp; &lt;/span&gt;The Mount Eyak ski area is slated to open tomorrow (Saturday) and Sunday from 11 A-M to 4 P-M. &lt;/p&gt;&lt;br&gt;&lt;/font&gt;&lt;/font&gt;&lt;/font&gt;&lt;/font&gt;</content>

		<content type="html">&lt;font style="font-size: 14px;"&gt;&lt;font face="Arial"&gt;By Tony Gorman&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;&lt;p style="line-height: normal;"&gt;Copper Valley Electric Association members can breathe a little bit after getting blindsided by rate increases last month.&lt;span&gt;&amp;nbsp; &lt;/span&gt;During their regular meeting, yesterday (Thursday), C-V-E-A Board members approved a 500-thousand dollar fuel cost assistance credit toward residential power bills through May.&lt;span&gt;&amp;nbsp; &lt;/span&gt;The credit is worth 5-point-97 cents per kilowatt hour.&lt;span&gt;&amp;nbsp; &lt;/span&gt;That brings the cost of power from 25-point-3 to 19-point-4 cents per kilowatt hour.&lt;span&gt;&amp;nbsp; &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p style="line-height: normal;"&gt;C-V-E-A members got a shocker from finding a rate hike in last month’s bills.&lt;span&gt;&amp;nbsp; &lt;/span&gt;The cooperative cited the cost of fuel and hydro generation as reasons for the hike.&lt;span&gt;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;br&gt;&lt;/font&gt;&lt;/font&gt;</content>

		<content type="html">&lt;font face="Arial"&gt;By Tony Gorman&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Students in the Cordova School District will have to until next week to go back to class.&amp;nbsp; The District announced Tuesday night that schools are closed for the rest of the week.&amp;nbsp; The decision comes after assessing input from city officials, meteorologist reports, and information from the district's own investigation.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Despite the closure, the District says both Mt. Eccles Elementary School and Cordova Jr./Sr. High School are deemed secure.&amp;nbsp; The District plans to take an unoffical reading of the weight/square foot of snow on the schools' roofs.&lt;br&gt;&lt;/font&gt;</content>
